A flat roof window with solar control glass for less heat in summer
After the hot summer of 2018, we were increasingly asked whether our flat roof windows could also be fitted with solar control glass. As a flat roof window specialist, Intura is offering the Intura PGX A1 series and ventilating electric PGC A1 windows with sun protection glass as an additional option from this spring onwards. This reduces the heat under the flat roof and creates a more pleasant indoor climate on hot days.
Keep the worst of the heat out
Sun protection glass is specially designed to allow light, but not heat, from the sun into your home. This can be very pleasant for rooms and spaces where the sun shines on the flat roof every day and the temperature can therefore rise quickly. Sun protection glass differs from other types of flat glass in the special metals and coatings that are added to the glass to absorb or reflect sunlight. Sun-resistant glass filters up to 60 per cent of the heat compared to standard double glazing. This allows you to enjoy the light of the sun, but keeps the worst of the heat out. In warm weather, you need less cooling, which is very comfortable!
Advantages of solar control glass in your flat glass dome:
Sun protection glass has reflective properties
- Sun protection glass reduces energy costs in the summer by reducing the use of air conditioning
